Meet Dr. Karen D. Johnson
I recently moved my practice to the Kohala region of the Big Island of Hawaii after practicing for many years in Oregon. My roots are in Canada where I received my medical training at the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. Additionally, I am a graduate of the College of Integrative Medicine, University of Arizona, Tucson, founded by Dr. Andrew Weil and a graduate of Foundations in Herbal Medicine instructed by Dr. Tieraona LowDog.
I am Board Certified in Integrative Medicine with the American Board of Physician Specialties.
I am a certified practitioner with the Institute of Functional Medicine, am certified by Dr. Shoemaker to treat Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome and am certified in the Bredesen Protocol for reversing early cognitive decline.
I am a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and The College of Family Physicians of Canada.
The focus of my practice is Functional Medicine consultations to find the root cause of your health issues. I draw from the many areas of my training to comprehensively understand and address your health concerns to assist you in achieving your optimal health.
